How Much Do Granite Countertops Cost in Jacksonville, FL? (2026 Guide)

One of the first questions people ask us is what granite countertops actually cost. It's a fair question, and we're going to give you a real answer — not a "call for a quote" non-answer, and not an unrealistically low number designed to get you in the door.

The truth is, the price range is genuinely wide. What you pay depends on the stone you pick, how complicated your layout is, and who you're buying from. Here's how it all breaks down.

Typical Price Ranges for Installed Granite in Jacksonville

For most residential kitchen projects in the Jacksonville area, installed granite countertops run between $45 and $85 per square foot. That includes the material, fabrication, edge work, and installation.

Here's a rough breakdown by tier:

  • Entry-level granite (Level 1–2): $45–$60/sq ft installed. Solid, durable stone in more common colors — think classic black, ivory, or tan tones. Perfectly good material that holds up well.
  • Mid-range granite (Level 3–4): $60–$75/sq ft installed. More distinctive veining, rarer colorways, thicker slab options. This is where most of our customers land.
  • Premium and exotic granite (Level 5+): $75–$100+/sq ft installed. Brazilian quartzites, rare color patterns, large bookmatched slabs. These are statement pieces.

An average kitchen with roughly 40–50 square feet of countertop surface would typically fall between $1,800 and $3,500 fully installed, depending on the stone tier and edge profile.

What Drives the Cost Up

Material tier. The rarer and more visually complex the stone, the more it costs. This isn't arbitrary — it reflects actual quarrying difficulty and lower slab availability.

Edge profiles. A simple eased or straight edge is included in standard pricing. Decorative edges — ogee, dupont, waterfall — require additional machine time and add $10–$20 per linear foot. For a kitchen with 20 linear feet of exposed edge, that adds up.

Slab thickness. Most countertops use 3cm (roughly 1.25") stone. Thinner 2cm stone costs less but typically requires a plywood substrate for support. Some customers prefer the beefier look and feel of 3cm and it's generally the better long-term choice.

Layout complexity. Cutouts for undermount sinks, cooktop cutouts, inside corners, and curved edges all add labor time. A straightforward galley kitchen with one sink cutout is very different from an island with a built-in cooktop and a radius corner.

Why Buying from a Fabricator Saves You Money

When you buy from a big box store, you're paying a retail markup on top of the wholesale stone price, and then paying a separate installation crew the store contracts out. There's a middleman built into every step.

We fabricate in-house right here in Orange Park. That means the stone goes from our warehouse to our saw to your kitchen — no reseller margin, no markup passed along from a third party. Our pricing reflects our actual material and labor costs, which is how we can offer competitive prices without cutting corners on the work.

It also means we're accountable for everything. If something doesn't fit right, we fix it. There's no subcontractor to point fingers at.

Hidden Costs to Watch Out For

A few things that can catch people off guard:

Tear-out and disposal. If you have existing countertops that need to come out, that's typically an added cost. Ask upfront — it's usually $150–$300 depending on the material and how much there is.

Plumbing re-connections. If your sink is being replaced as part of the project, a plumber may need to reconnect the supply lines and drain. We're not plumbers, and neither are most countertop installers — budget for it separately.

Backsplash removal. If tile backsplash is directly attached to the old countertop, removing it cleanly without damaging the wall can add some complexity.

None of these are surprises if you ask about them ahead of time. A reputable fabricator will walk you through the full scope before you sign anything.
